Jerome Gabis, Psy.D.
Dr. Jerome A. Gabis, Psy. D. is a licensed psychologist interested in helping older adults, their families, and their caregivers address the problems, issues, and decisions affecting them. He is a 1993 graduate of the School of Professional Psychology at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and has received training in various clinical settings. His doctoral internship included rotations in the general practice of psychology and specialized rehab training in the assessment and treatment of persons affected by strokes, spinal cord injuries, and head trauma.
Dr. Gabis devotes most of his professional practice to helping the elderly and their families address the changes affecting them. He and the staff of Legacy Psychological Services provide psychological and consulting services to residents and staff of several long-term care and retirement communities. He also maintains a general practice in psychology at Legacy’s North College Hill clinic. Prior to his entering the field of psychology, Dr. Gabis served as a Catholic priest for 10 years in Southeastern Ohio.
Dr. Gabis is a member of Psychologists in Long-term Care, and the American and Ohio Psychological Associations. He serves on the Ohio Psychological Association Continuing Education Committee. For 30 years, he has volunteered with the Cincinnati area Alzheimer’s Association as a Family Support Group facilitator and facilitator trainer. He also volunteers in community building activities in his church and neighborhood.
Victoria Becker, Ph.D.
Dr. Victoria Becker, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist working with Legacy Psychological Services LLC primarily in long-term care and rehab settings. She does not see clients at the Hamilton Avenue office. Dr. Becker completed her graduate studies at Miami University where she received her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology. She completed a pre-doctoral internship at the University of Notre Dame and Oaklawn Psychiatric Hospital. Dr. Becker has had extensive experience in providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment interventions to a variety of populations in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Dr. Becker’s interest in working with the elderly began with volunteer work as a teenager along side her mother, a registered nurse who worked in a retirement center. In her post-graduate training with Dr. Gabis, a geropsychologist, she acquired valuable geriatric clinical skills and further developed her understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals in late life. Dr. Becker has enjoyed working in several different long-term care and retirement facilities. She understands the value of communication and teamwork to provide the best outcomes for patients. In her work, she remains patient-focused and enjoys working with families, nurses, doctors, social workers and rehab therapists.
Natalia Salamanca Balen, MSc, MA
Natalia holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Notre Dame (Indiana) and she is working towards obtaining her Doctorate degree from the same university.
She has experience working with older adults, cancer patients, and clients diagnosed with advanced chronic illnesses. Natalia also has experience working in diverse healthcare settings and with patients across the lifespan. She uses an integrative cognitive behavioral approach to care to help her clients cope with anxiety and depression. She also assists client in finding meaning and developing coping skills whilst navigating difficult life situations.
Before entering the field of psychology, Natalia worked in the medical field in Colombia and the UK. She enjoys spending time in nature, visiting her family, and connecting with the local Hispanic community.
Carla Antenucci, Psy.D.
Dr. Carla Antenucci is a clinical psychologist licensed in the state of Ohio. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Xavier University in 2019. Dr. Antenucci completed her pre-doctoral internship at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Johnson City, TN. She specialized in Health Service Psychology at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center for her post-doctoral fellowship. She is a member of the Ohio Psychological Association.
At Legacy’s North College Hill clinic, Dr.Antenucci works with clients who hope to make positive changes toward living a life that is more closely aligned with their values. She is experienced in addressing self-esteem issues, stress management, depression, anxiety, weight management, tobacco cessation, coping with chronic illness, and relationship issues. She uses a primarily humanistic cognitive-behavioral approach to care and believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is essential for effective clinical work. She takes time to understand issues from your point of view and works collaboratively to create a personalized care plan to achieve your goals.
Dr. Antenucci also sees older adult clients within retirement and long-term care communities. She has extensive training in geriatric care and experience with patients receiving hospice and palliative services. She works with clients, their families, and staff to address unique issues that surface toward the end of life.
Dr. Antenucci enjoys challenging herself and trying new things. She likes to be outdoors and appreciates the world’s beauties, both big and small.
Amanpreet Randazzo, Psy.D.
Amanpreet Randazzo, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist serving the elderly in rehabilitation, nursing care, assisted living, and independent living communities. She has joined our Legacy team after having moved to Ohio from Texas where she has been the moving force behind AR Psychological Services, which continues to provide mental health services for adults, couples, and teens in North Texas. She completed doctoral training in clinical psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology and a year-long internship at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia where her rotations included training in the mental health needs of the elderly. She also completed post-doctoral specialty training in conducting cognitive assessments and therapy with the elderly and their families.
Her grandfather developed dementia when he was 83 but continued to sit at the head of the table. Sharing in the cultural values of her Indian heritage, she has a deep appreciation for the wisdom of elders and grew up cherishing long hours spent with her grandparents. In her professional training, her career focus quickly became clear as she grew to admire and enjoy the older adults she came to know and serve. She readily grasps the complex challenges that impact older adults and their families.
She enjoys cooking Italian food, trying new Ina Garten recipes, and baking for her husband and nine year-old son. She values hard work, participating in community projects, and watching their family dogs add joy to their household. She is an in-network provider among most insurance plans and can be reached by called Legacy Psychological Services at 513-522-0777.
Susan Kissel, Psy.D.
Dr. Susan Kissel is a licensed clinical psychologist. She earned her Doctorate in Psychology in 2013 from Xavier University. In addition to her training in therapy, she has many years of clinical experience completing diagnostic assessments. Dr. Kissel exclusively sees therapy clients who live in nursing homes or retirement communities at this time.
Dr. Kissel approaches therapy using a wide lens, considering the client’s background, environment, and other internal and external factors. Having our life experiences witnessed and validated can be a powerful experience. Dr. Kissel seeks to help every individual find greater peace and balance in the midst of constant change.
Outside of work, Dr. Kissel stays busy caring for her three children, is an avid reader, and enjoys volunteering in her community.
Ann Mock
Ann Mock has been with Legacy for several years. She has many years of experience in mental health office management, supporting our clients and us. As office manager, she welcomes clients as guests, schedules appointments, responds to phone calls, and sees that our office runs well. She works with our billing agents to make sure accounts are accurate and up to date. She enjoys attention to detail and understands mental health issues impacting the lives of our clients. She lives in Cincinnati with her husband of 44 years. Together they raised two daughters and are enjoying the blessings of four grandsons.
